Dear Hickory Grove Church Family, I am devastated that for the second week in a row we will not be able to worship together. I know that this has been tough on all of us. I pray that things will be different in the days and weeks ahead. I am praying for you as I know you are praying for us. RUN BABY RUN 5K RACE STATUS! We have been working diligently to assess whether or not we could still hold the Run Baby Run 5k race this Saturday and after much consideration, thought, and prayer feel it best to cancel. While some areas around Myrtle Beach and North Myrtle Beach may look back to normal, there are still flooded areas and possibly more with the river crest later this week. Because of the extreme flooding, several personnel from Coastline Women's Center are unable to return to their homes at this time. This includes the founders of Coastline and many of you. In addition, the timing company was evacuated from their home and unable to travel to Myrtle Beach for the race. We were all very excited for this race but for the safety of all involved know this is the right decision. We hope you will take time to either complete a virtual 5k race in honor of Coastline Women's Center or join us on Thursday, October 4th at Black Dog Running Company for an "unofficial" timed 5k during our weekly group run. T-shirts (guaranteed to those registered by 9/9) and finisher medals will be available during the October 4th run. If you live outside the Myrtle Beach area, we will be happy to mail them to you. We are unable to offer refunds for the race but wanted to remind you of the mission of Coastline Women's Center: --Coastline Women's Center is a non profit pregnancy medical clinic serving all of Horry County. All proceeds go towards our life affirming mission to offer assistance to women, men, and families facing unplanned pregnancies by providing emotional, physical and spiritual support.-- Please know this was not an easy decision and we certainly appreciate your understanding and prayers for those affected by Hurricane Florence. If you have any questions, please let us know. ... See more
